In close collaboration with the senior director for professional practice for Tower Health and with hospital clinical and administrative leaders, coordinates the hospital’s Journey to Magnet Excellence® and all activities related to achievement of ANCC Magnet designation and re-designation. Coordinates system and hospital based nursing professional practice programs and initiatives; coordinates hospital shared governance, nursing recognition activities, and career advancement programs. Provides oversight for nursing quality outcome reporting and assures goals and improvement activities aligned with ANCC expectations for Magnet organizations. Serves as the Magnet advisor to the hospital leadership team, liaison to the ANCC Magnet office, chair of the Magnet Steering committee, and member
Designs and conducts educational programs for nursing staff. Coordinates orientation programs for new staff members, develops programs to keep existing staff up-to-date, and acts as general resource for nursing personnel. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.
Requires a masters degree in nursing, certification as a critical care registered nurse (RN), and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
