Under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, administers nursing services to ensure the delivery of high quality, efficient, effective patient care delivered by highly qualified and competent staff within the assigned departments. Responsible for the planning, development, organization, budgeting and operations management of the department. The Manager is the key person who translates strategies into day-to-day operations assuring standards of nursing process, care, treatment, and services are followed and unit specific policy and procedure reflect current facility practice and nursing best practices.  


Responsible for holding staff accountable to hospital policies and procedures, and completing annual evaluations for staff assigned to the department. Accepts twenty-four hour accountability for areas of responsibility.  Ensures compliance with regulatory agencies impacting nursing care.  Develops, implements, and monitors objectives and goals to integrate technical and human resources to support organization’s mission. Ensures departmental policies are reviewed/revised annually, manual on unit is kept updated and staff education of policies is completed.  Works closely with ancillary department directors to achieve overall organizational goals. Participates and leads the development of programs and services to increase hospital utilization by patients and physicians. Other duties as assigned.


Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing with at least 5 years of acute hospital clinical care experience and 2 years Telemetry experience is required. Three to five years of previous management/leadership experience preferred. 


Current Nursing licensure in the State of Pennsylvania must be in good standing.


Current BLS certification required.
