Provides assessment, treatment and medical transportation of critically ill and/or injured patients between hospitals and from the scene of an accident or injury to an appropriate medical facility.
Performs detailed patient assessment utilizing a systems approach in which life threatening conditions are rapidly identified and appropriately intervened upon, and subsequent conditions are secondarily identified and addressed. This includes data collection from all sources including phyiscal exam, other personnel caring for patient, diagnostic findings and significant others if available.
Education: Graduate of an approved school of Emergency Medical Technician Paramedic training meeting the National Standard Curriculum (DOT).
Experience: One (1) year full time 911 EMT - Paramedic experience perferred.
Licenses/Certificates: Current EMT - Paramedic Certification; BLS required; National Registry EMT-Paramedic preferred;ACLS, Drivers License; Hazmat; EMSVO; NIMS 100, 200, 700 Required; PALS; NRP/PALS; ITLS/PHTLS or equivalent preferred.
