Under the direction of the Laboratory manager, administers services to ensure the delivery of high quality, efficient, effective patient care within the department; responsible for providing care to patients’ birth to elderly, performing all functions in a professional and ethical manner. Follows and is held accountable to standards of process, hospital policies and procedures.
Performs all laboratory procedures as defined by department. Provides support and oversight to all staff involved in the preanalytical, analytical and post analytical lab operation. Uses critical thinking when evaluating patient results and work processes. Operates and maintains all instrumentation, performs and oversees quality control, proficiency testing, and statistical reporting. Participates in quality and performance improvement initiatives. Fiscal activities such as waste reduction, performance improvement, compliance, accreditation, procedure writing and review and other projects performed as assigned.
Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Science required
