    Responsibilities

    Unit Clerk/Receptionist/PCA, for Procedural Area Desk/Waiting Room

    Hours: 2PM to 8PM (28 hours per week)

     

    • Performs various activities under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. 
    • Oversees the Procedural Area Waiting Room, updating visitors, & directing/escorting patients to the appropriate procedural area. 
    • Answers phone & directs callers to the appropriate person or department.
    • Communicates with the nursing staff to assist families with updates on patient status.  
    • Teaches patient's family/visitors how to interpret the electronic patient tracking board, located in the Waiting Room. 
    • Assist with vendor control in and out of procedural areas.
    • Transport patients, beds & specimens to the lab, as needed. 
    • Perform surgical preps.

    Qualifications

    Education Requirements:

    -High school diploma

    -Certification from an accredited nursing assistant program, preferred.

    -Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.

    -Current BLS certification
