Acts as receptionist and performs clerical duties in nursing area under the direction of the Patient Care Manager/Director.
Receives results of lab and x-ray studies or other pertinent testing and notifies appropriate registered nurse.
Places calls as requested by staff . Interracts with patients, families and significant others.
Notifies physicians of consultations and documents notification.
Assembles and dismantles patient’s chart assuring each page is labeled and includes appropriate forms.
Orders and maintains and organizes appropriate supplies.
Notifies appropriate registered nurse of new physician orders.
Performs other job related activities as requested
High School Diploma or GED required.
Keyboarding skills required.
Evidence of legible handwriting and ability to spell, read and write.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
