Provides clinical and nursing professional development expertise as an educator, leader, consultant, facilitator, change agent, and researcher to support the organization in the provision of quality patient care by helping to ensure the clinical competence of nursing staff and foster the delivery of evidence-based nursing practice.
Develops new models of education to meet the needs of a changing healthcare system. Uses assessment and evaluation strategies in education and participates in curriculum design and functions as a change agent, leader and educator.Conducts weekly progress conference meetings for all orientee’s on assigned units. Documents orientee’s progress and assures that measurable goals are established and assessed weekly. Collaborates with Directors of Patient Care areas to initiate corrective actions for clinical issues in order to promote positive clinical outcomes.
3-5 years of current critical care/emergency nursing experience is required
Experience in curriculum development and principles of teaching are necessary
Graduate of an approved school of nursing
Masters of Science in Nursing or Masters in Education is required
Licensed and currently registered in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
Current AHA BLS and ACLS Certification and will require instructor certification within 3 months.
May require PALS, ENPC, CPI based on areas of responsibility
