  • Overview

    The Paramedic Coordinator will be the primary educator for the Paramedic program. Will assist the director to coordinate the Paramedic course, schedule and track the progress of paramedic students during in class, in-hospital, out-of-hospital, and of all phases of paramedic education. Also assists the paramedic skills coordinator in the presentation, teaching, evaluation and testing of paramedic skills.


    1. Participates in the planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of EMS educational program offerings.
    2. Prepares and delivers instruction either at the School of Health Sciences or off-site, as needed; supervises the activities of course participants during instructional time.
    3. Evaluates learner performance, provides feedback, and develops learner remediation plans.
    4. Fulfills EMS educational program administrative requirements, to include calculation and submission of grades, maintenance of program, course, and student/participant records, and preparation and submission of data and reports.
    5. Participates in continuing professional development programs as appropriate.
    6. Adheres to established School of Health Sciences and departmental policies and procedures and relevant quality and safety standards.
    7. Participates in activities that promote the EMS department, to include student recruiting, and program marketing events, as appropriate.
    8. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.


    1. Associate Degree: Healthcare Related (Required)
    2. Bachelor's Degree: Healthcare related field preferred (Preferred)
    3. ACLS CERTIFICATION (Required)
    4. At least 4 instructor certifications: ACLS, BCLS, PALS or PEPP, BTLS or PHTLS. (Required)
    5. CPR Certification (Required)
    6. PA EMS Instructor (Required)
    7. 4-5 Years Prehospital Emergency Care as a Paramedic or PHRN (Required)
    8. 1-3 Years Coordination of EMT programs, or higher, including clinic and field activities. (Preferred)
    9. 1-3 Years EMS Educator (Preferred)
    10. 7+ Years Prehospital Emergency Care as a Paramedic or PHRN (Preferred)
    11. Required Skills: Excellent Communications Skills, Excellent Interpersonal Skills, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Word
    12. Team based communication and observation skills required to identify and document student deficiencies, with written plan for improvement.
