The Oncology Registered Nurse will provide patient care and administrative support, partnering with the Oncologist within the Tower Health Medical Group Hematology Practice. Prepares patients and charts efficiently so that clinicians can keep appointments in a timely fashion. Performs clinical tasks, as directed by the provider, such as vital signs, medication reconciliation, quickly and correctly; and accurately documents same in patient charts. Identifies physical, psychosocial, educational needs of the patient. Performs accurate nursing assessments and assures the patients needs are being met. Collaborates with referring physicians’ offices to assure that necessary information is available to facilitate timely decision-making. Assists clinicians by processing prescription requests. Provides emotional support and patient education. Demonstrates understanding and consideration of cultural and religious beliefs in plan of care/education. Demonstrates ability to educate patients and their caregivers, using age appropriate terminology. Acts as a resource person for other staff members. Communicates with outside departments to obtain test results, as necessary. Communicates with pharmacies, as directed by the physician.
PA RN License required.
Oncology experience strongly preferred.
EPIC experience preferred.
