  • Responsibilities

    The Professional Coder provides evidence-based provider documentation/coding reviews,

    provider education and surgical coding for outpatient and inpatient professional fee services.


    The Professional Coder serves as documentation/coding resource to RHPN providers with routine feedback, initial and ongoing

    education/training in regards to appropriate clinical documentation/coding guidelines.


    The Professional Coder performs surgical coding for designated RHPN providers per established coding guidelines.


    The Professional Coder follows all ICD-10-CM, CPT, E/M coding guidelines to ensure compliance for accurate charge capture, reimbursement,

    internal and external data reporting and regulatory requirements.


    The Professional Coder ensures established coding quality, productivity and process goals are met.



    Education Requirements


    High School Diploma or GED (Required)

    Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.


    Associate degree: Health Information Management or healthcare related degree (Preferred)


    Certification and Licensure Requirements


    Coding Certification: CCS or CPC (Required)

    Healthcare Coding Certificate: AHIMA, AHIMA, AAPC or other credentialed program. (Required)
