  • Responsibilities

    The Multidisciplinary Clinic Coordinator is responsible for creating and maintaining the multidisciplinary clinic schedules.  Coordinator assumes major responsibility for coordinating the efforts of the various team members (surgeons, medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, gyn oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, nurses, navigators, genetic counselors, social workers, nutritionists, and physical therapists), who participate in the clinics. He/she serves as a liaison between the patient and the members of the clinic.  He/she assures that all pertinent patient information is available and communicated to the team prior to or at the time of the patient visit, in order to facilitate the physicians’ decisions regarding treatment. The Coordinator plays an integral part in assuring that the appointments are executed in a timely manner based on the patient's diagnosis and needs. He/she must be able to discern the gravity of the patient's current situation in order to properly prioritize appointments. He/she also evaluates and confirms insurance coverage prior to the visit as part of his/her fiscal responsibility. 

     

    Qualifications

    Education Requirements

    High School Diploma or GED (Required)

    Experience and Skills

    0-1 Year Fulfilling secretarial responsibilities in the healthcare office setting (Required)

    1-3 Years Fulfilling secretarial responsibilities in the healthcare office setting to include insurance authorization (Preferred)

    Required Skills: Excellent Communications Skills, Excellent Interpersonal Skills, General Clerical Skills, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Medical Terminology
