Work to create a safe and secure environment for patients, employees, students, and visitors. Assist all individuals in understanding and conveniently utilizing Hospital facilities. Provide a first response to emergency situations, and coordinate with outside emergency personnel, like fire and police. Provide a good first impression of the Hospital for patients and visitors. Assist patients, with outside emergency personnel, like fire and police. Assist patients, visitors, and employees in navigating through the Hospital campus, including all buildings, parking structures and grounds.
Full certification required within six months of employment. Must be AED/CPR certified within 60 days of employment. Trained in conflict management and workplace violence preferred. Interact regularly with angry, emotionally distraught, and verbally abusive individuals. Interact intermittently with physically abusive individuals. Work both indoors and outdoors, in all types of weather conditions. Endure long periods of constant standing and walking as typical, some running. Heavy lifting, including helping mobility-impaired patients is frequent. Exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials is possible. Normal hearing and normal vision with corrective lenses is required. Must have a valid PA Driver's license. High school Diploma/ GED and a demonstrated ability to read and write. Prior working experience and/or education in Security/Criminal Justice is strongly preferred.
